Abstract

Cook, Valerie, Amy Chertock, Geoff Cunfer, Rufus Cohen, Timothy Bechtold, Tracy Barlett, and David Varmint, eds., Earth First! 11, no. 7 (1 August 1991). Republished by the Environment & Society Portal, Multimedia Library. http://www.environmentandsociety.org/node/6956.

In this issue of Earth First! focus is put on women’s roles within the EF! movement and also within the journal. In addition, Mark Alain Wilson gives an update on the arrest of activists in Malaysia, Christi Stevens reports on the effort against a golf tournament on Baron Creek, and James Barnes discusses the consequences of environmental action.

"One of the many issues raised […] was the desire for greater acknowledgement of women in the movement and in the journal. The three of us women on this issue’s collective were discussing how to accomplish this. We decided to write this editorial without knowing quite what point we wanted to make. All we knew was that we wanted to direct it to women; and we wanted to examine ways to deepen the sense of community and belonging for women within the EF! movement."
