Abstract

Davis, John, et al., eds., Earth First! Journal 10, no. 8 (22 September 1990). Republished by the Environment & Society Portal, Multimedia Library. http://www.environmentandsociety.org/node/6944.

The journal’s staff have decided to tender their resignations by the end of the year. Thus, this issue of Earth First! is filled with discussions, rivalry, and answers to criticisms brought up at the RRR EF! Journal meeting (featured in the previous issue). Plus, Captain Paul Watson discusses tree spiking, Jamie Sayen gives an update on the old-growth “war” in Maine, and former editor Dave Foreman and Nancy Morten write a letter concerning their resignation from the EF! movement.

"So be it. Both of us have smoked a lot of cigars and downed a lot of beers trying to figure out what to do. But we cannot escape the fact that we are uneasy with much in the current EF! movement. We therefore have come to the irrevocable decision to leave."

— Dave Foreman and Nancy Morton
